Welcome October! 2012 Fall Foliage Season is underway in the Shenandoah Valley.
According to foliage reports, the pace of color change has picked up dramatically in the northeast parts of the United States. In the northern mountains of West Virginia, locations above 3000 feet are getting close to peak colors. This is a week to a week-and-a-half early! And experts are saying it is due to the dry weather in 2012 that may bring about early change. In our region, the color change is just starting. You are beginning to see reds and yellows peaking out on some trees. Our peak is expected to be in mid to late October. Being born and raised in Pittsburgh, we expect to see more color this time of year. We now have to get accustom to our new Virginia location where leaf color is about 2 weeks later.
If you are planning a trip this fall, we posted some one night specials in the Cottages. If the cottages are booked for your desired travel dates, then visit our sister property, Steeles Tavern Manor Bed & Breakfast. We still have availability on some weekends. Fall is here so now is the time to make reservations!
See you this Fall,
Ray and Melissa Alexander
