The Hills Are Alive…

…the Shenandoah ones, that is!

Hope your Easter and Passover celebrations were great…the weather certainly was spectacular here.

We visited the Bull & Oyster Festival in Lexington on Saturday and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. There was great live music, including a performance by Gary Ruley & Mule Train, delicious oysters and BBQ, and prizes. Eileen’s sister even won a pearl necklace! Take a look at our pictures and mark your calendar to attend the event next year!

This week, come stay with us and celebrate Scots-Irish culture and its importance to the Shenandoah Valley at the annual Scots Irish Festival in Lexington! The event takes place at Maury River Middle School beginning at 9am on Saturday morning, and includes a parade, Highland game demonstrations, living history presentations, vintage cars, music, entertainment, food and vendors.

If your tastes are a bit more mature, enjoy Washington Street Purveyors’ monthly wine tasting on Friday, April 9th to get a sense of the local, and then head back to your cottage for a peaceful night’s sleep. We’ve even added a complimentary box of Godiva “Gems” chocolates to our guests’ pillows. So, act like a bunny and “hop” to it this spring with a booking at Alpine Hideaway Cottages.

We hope to hear from you soon!
